Event Description: Zotero is a free, open source citation manager that can: automatically extract citation information from websites, library catalogs, databases and more ; save PDFs, images, screenshots and notes along with the citation records; format citations and bibliographies; sync your library across multiple devices. This hands-on workshop will lead participants through all of these functions and answer questions.

The aim of this workshop is to provide an overview of the principle of Open Access, that publicly funded scholarly works should be accessible to the public. The session will offer some basic ideas on open access, how it plays out on a university campus and how it fits with peer-review, tenure and promotion and prestige in publishing.
