Biographical background on our speaker is available at his website, http://www.dougmarlette.com, where clicking on “Marlette Bio” leads quickly to mention of his FSU connections: Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and raised in Durham, North Carolina, Laurel, Mississippi, and Sanford, Florida, Doug Marlette graduated from Florida State University . . . ” While an undergraduate at Florida State, he was a cartoonist for the Flambeau, and later served as cartoonist for the Charlotte Observer, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, New York Newsday, and, since 2002, the Tallahassee Democrat.
Doing the honors of introducing Marlette will be Mike Pate, President and Publisher of the Tallahassee Democrat. The Friends gratefully acknowledge the assistance of the Democrat and of Donald Foss, Dean of the College of Arts and Science at FSU, in helping to arrange this talk.
