Access Services & Delivery (ASD) Departmental Reorganization

Strategic Alignment
Invest in People

Leads/Involved
All Access Services & Delivery (ASD) staff; Sarah Miller; Susannah Miller; Gale Etschmaier

About
We reviewed, revised, reclassed, and sought increases for almost every full time staff member in the department. New departmental structure created a more equitable distribution of labor - part of our concerted effort to reduce burnout and position turn over.

Outcomes
Decreased turnover and burn-out. Significant improvement in staff salaries. Reallocation of labor led to new services like Online Ordering, ASD's Tech Desk at Strozier, a dedicated Collections Access Team for Dirac, and a dramatic change in staff morale.

Success
We have seen a decrease in turnover, an increased staff salaries, implementation of new services and a higher morale. There has been less administrative work for managers.
