About
In our partnership with the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE), we help provide support for first-generation students participating in the Summer Bridge program, which provides a supportive transition for these students to FSU. We coordinate a half-day library orientation for students to explore the Libraries through three information stages with games and engagement throughout, providing an unique and personable introduction to the Libraries. In 2022, 390 students participated in the Care Summer Bridge Libraries Orientation.

Outcomes
Direct and focused engagement for our first-generation students, providing necessary library support for CARE students.

Success
The increase of the Libraries’ participation in the Summer Bridge (from a short library presentation to a half-day event) as well as a strengthening of our partnership with CARE as evidenced by their participation in our recruitment process as well as specialized crash course reviews from our tutoring team in addition to mandatory library hours for CARE students. It has also been measured by feedback from the CARE ambassadors as well as from CARE faculty & staff.
