University Libraries provides a multi-faceted library instruction program for FSU students, faculty and staff. The Library Instruction Program is designed to help bridge the gap between FSU's classes and the library's information resources.
Facilitating learning for students, faculty and staff is our goal.
- Course-Integrated Instruction
Working in collaboration with professors and other classroom instructors, the instruction librarian and other library faculty provide course-related library instruction on request. Topics of instruction vary widely, from instruction on how to use the databases available for a particular field, using FSU's online catalog, to using the Internet for research. This instruction can take place in one of our classrooms. For more details, please phone or email Michael Siriwardena (850) 645-2164 or fill out the request for Library Instruction.
- Library Assignment Consultations
The instruction librarian can help FSU faculty design assignments that offer FSU students a successful and challenging library experience. For ideas about the creation of effective library assignments for your students, faculty may wish to consult with the instruction librarian.
